Forum for Civic Initiatives (FIQ) is a non-governmental organisation working in the security sector, development of philanthropy, and through grants it supports projects for active citizenship and environment protection.
FIQ was established in 2000 to address urgent needs in post-conflict Kosovo.
By working directly with citizens, FIQ has, for three years now, built and developed also the Philanthropy Programme and the Grants Programme.
With the Philanthropy Programme in 2009, a new tradition has started in our society, that of expressing a public gratitude to businesses, media and individuals who have proven engagement in improving quality of life in Kosovo. Every year FIQ awards FIDES Prize on Philanthropy in Kosovo, which now has become a traditional event.
While, by its Gants’ Programme, FIQ supports initiatives and projects on environment protection and active citizenship, projects of environmental organisations, those of community and citizen groups aimed at improving quality of life and mobilisation of local resources.
FIQ undertakes initiatives and is also part of regional and international initiatives and conferences concerning development of philanthropy, policy analyses, and promotion of regional security and cooperation.
